I burnt the atmega 2560 on APM 2.. I replaced it with a new Atmega 2560..

I am unable to flash the board now with any of the firmwares with APM Planner..

Is it that the arduino bootloader is needed on the board to upload firmware..??

If so please tell me how to upload arduino firmware on a Atmega 2560 , as I have tried according to this tutorial and it didnt work..
