Hello!

I've connected the trigger cable to servo output 7 on the APM 2.0 and manage to make it react when I activate servo 7 in the MP's flight data screen. I can only see a tiny twitch and wonder if that is enough to make the camera trigger by distance?

How can I verify that it will trigger my CHDK-camera through my GentWire-USB without sending it on a mission?

What pulsewidth does the trigger by distance send out on the CH7 camera trigger?

As I mentioned I connected the Cable to servo out 7, is that the correct output or should it be some of the ones on the side rail of the APM?

  • Hi Per,

You don't need to write a mission for this CAMERA_TRIG_DISTANCE to work.

Connect up your APM to mission planner, set a trigger distance and refresh the parameters to your APM.

Disconnect the APM, remove your prop, connect your lipo, set made to manual, wait for GPS lock, then walk about with your plane, keep the servo connected to your chosen output (7) and it should move when you reach your trigger distance, or you could connect up your gentwire and verify that your camera takes an image.

This works cause I've tried it with my APM2.5 and PX4 connected to my IXUS 100 : )
