Originally posted this in the Arducopter category not realising there was one specifically for the APM2. Might get more help here.
Just got my APM2 today. I've been trying to connect it to Mission Planner running in Virtual Box. However, whenever I try and mount the usb device I get this error:
Failed to attach the USB device Arduino (www.arduino.cc) Arduino Mega 2560 [0001] to the virtual machine Windows 7.
USB device with UUID is in use by someone else.
Result Code: | NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) |
Component: | HostUSBDevice |
Interface: | IHostUSBDevice {173b4b44-d268-4334-a00d-b6521c9a740a} |
Callee: | IConsole {1968b7d3-e3bf-4ceb-99e0-cb7c913317bb} |
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I don't get this problem with mp APM1, or my Arduino.
Cheers,
Chris

I also use Virtualbox in this way. On the Mac side, first go into settings in Virtualbox. Navigate to "ports" and then "usb". Plug in your APM2 and add it to the list. Click ok and close Virtualbox. Now here is the interesting thing, you have to restart the computer. Then open up Virtualbox again and open Mission Planner. It should connect properly. If it doesn't, make sure you have the driver installed in Windows- http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/downloads/detail?name=Ardui...
