Two frames, one APM

Hi. I currently have a quad arducopter. I am also building up a hex. The plan was to be able to just take the electronics stack from the quad and put it on the hex when I wanted to fly it. I figured all I would have to do is plug everything back in and change the firmware type, depending on which frame I was flying.

Is it this simple or are there complications I'm not realizing with this?

    It's a bit of pain switching back and forth. But you're right if all you are doing is moving either just the APM or Reciver or both it just that simple.

    This is just as simple. Just make sure you connect the motors correctly to the APM, upload the right firmware and you should be good to go !
