Hi when i do a download of the logs I get the following raw numbers,
Accel X = 0.60 Accel Y = o.47 and Accel Z = -9.84 these numbers vary a little but remain similar through out the log,my real question is why is the Accel Z so different.

Z axis is vertical and shows the acceleration due to gravity of 9.8m/s/s.
If you hold the copter on it's side or nose down then the X or Y will read 9.8 and Z will be closer to 0
AccelZ is around -9,81 because it is the value of our planet's gravity acceleration in meters per second per second. The acceZ measires acceleration up/down.So when not moving, accelZ measures gravity.
If you flip your apm upside down, accelZ will show a positive 9,81 instead of negative!
