Uploading Code

Hi EveryoneGot the ArduPilot board put together, but when I tried uploading the code I get the following error:avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51After some research, I have come to beleive this may be a bootloader issue, but I'm not real sure.A little more info, I have reset the board, and afterwards I get a fast blinking blue LCK light.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

  • Hi Chris,

    I have tried reinstalling the drivers, nothing seems to happen when I try and load the code. All I have plugged in is the FTDI cable and the ESC. The power light is on solid and the STAT and Lock LEDs flash.

    I am not sure if this means anything.

    Cheers

  • Hi Tony,

    I have just put together my ArduPilot and Shield v2. I am getting the same error
    avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
    avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

    I have not been able to find a solution for this however I get the same error if I don’t have the FTDI cable plugged into the ArduPilot. I am using the FTDI cable from store.diydrones.com
    I have been thru all of the troubleshooting tips. Any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks in advance

    I have found I cannot load code without the shield attached unless I do a workaround not mentioned in the tips section. The moment the compilation is finished, I hit the reset button. Then it uploads properly.

    Have you been through ALL of the debugging tips linked in the manual?
