Using a Pixhawk in my Nitro Plane

I have installed my Pixhawk in my Nitro/Glow powered plane.  I have all the control surfaces working correctly.  I have a few questions when it comes to throttle control.  I would like to have manual control of my throttle at all times.  I have hooked that servo up directly to my receiver so the Pixhawk can never control it. Here are my questions:

  • I plan only flying in Manual, FBWA, and Stabilize.  I basically have the Pixhawk there to keep the plane level and stable.  I plan on doing no guided missions with this plane.
  • When I bring the throttle up in FBWA mode the elevator goes up slightly the more I raise the throttle.  Is this normal?  The Pixhawk still knows what the throttle level is since I have SBUS from my receiver the Pixhawk even though the servo  is hooked to the receiver.

Thanks.

  • This is normal. My electro plane does the same but very, very little.

See STAB_PITCH_DOWN. It controls this action.
