Waypoints definitions are set by simple double clicking of the mouse rather than typing in Longitudes and latitudes (which you can also do)
I believe the only way to do what you are looking for is to make sure you have a Internet connection so Mission Planner syncs up to Google Maps, Yahoo Satellite, etc. so you can define way points visually in a map.
But if you have some other requirements like move 50 feet north and 60 feet South East... i don't think that is possible. For example, it is kind of absurd to do any type of Formation flying based on GPS waypoints.
