What a great hobby!

I live in Thailand and am a bit of a tech nut.  Spent the last 6 months building a now obsolete Pocher model car (2500 pieces in the model).  Happened upon this whole drone thing by accident and got complelety overwhelmed by it.  For that last two months have been reading every post and every forum about them. Almost made the mistake to buy a complete unit like the "Phantom" but decided to go it alone.

Bought a built it yourself kit from Jdrones and been having an absolute blast!! ever since!!!  Never soldered a single thing in my 48 years and practiced for 2 weeks and old boards to try and learn.  This weekend hooked up all the wiring and batteries etc. and was over the moon.  For me, I need everything. SO have telemetry, GPS, Sonar...  Did the software debugging and had a riot!! Followed all the various instructions/advise strewn over this site to prepare and setup.  Today put power to the unit and hovered just 2 metres off the ground!  Too say I was happy. Is an understatement!  Still have a lot of learning to do and many more crashes (figured out I crashed already?), but thanks to the people on this site it has been incredible so far.

Had 20 odd people come to my place and look at the quad in awe....

Just wanted to post this so that those that have started this site know that people appreciate the work and look forward to the journey...  KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Great work! It always pays to take it slow and learn as much as you can so you can limit accidents or crashes. Remember, have fun and fly safe.
