I'm wondering the same thing as mine has just stopped connecting in Mission Planner - times out waiting on mavlink. I have the xstream adapter and the RX TX yellow leds are flashing in a way that makes it look as if communication is going on but nothing seems to happen on the laptop end where it is connected via usb adapter. The bricking phenomena seems to be related to sequence of plugging things in on adafruit adapter so not sure it applies in my case.
