XBee with 80km range?

Hi all

A friend of mine, an electrical engineer, referred me to this product:

It's a XBee Pro on 868mhz, with a high power output capable of reaching 80km LoS.

Are these modules interchangeable, should I be able to follow the same configuration procedure as with the classing Xbee Pro 900mhz?

    Can you honestly say that you care? i wouldn't give a shit.
    Cops have got no idea, and i doubt the FCC is driving around sporting ovals and paddocks looking for people over the power limit.

    I do already have Xbee868 connected to APM 1.0 via xtreembee on the test bench. It is compatibile in case of pinout, and software. However it needs external power source ,(XBee868 needs up to 800mA on full 300mW Tx power) xtreembee onboard voltage regulator is insufficient. Now I'm trying to overcome duty cycle. 

    Does anybody have working code with reset procedure implemented? Please share or PM me

    Yes point to point but not on a UAS its like pointing a pencil at the target at range, best I can manage with 50mw and correct antennas is 8km.

    If you want to go further make the frequency lower and keep an eye on the WRC meetings. They will rule soon on what frequencies are permitted for UAS worldwide.
