Hi,
My 3DR Aero is running the ArduPlane 3.0.2 firmware ('ArduPlane-v2.px4' downloaded from http://firmware.diydrones.com/Plane/2014-05/2014-05-15-12:05/PX4/).
I usually launch in FBWA mode and it takes off fine. However, of late I've had four successive crashes where the plane banks to the right, stalls and (sometimes) barrel rolls during takeoff. It's like a brick that just goes into the air and comes crashing down.
I test all control surfaces before every launch and they are working fine. All of them respond instantly to a change in attitude while in FBWA mode.
I recently had a crash where the right section of the wing was damaged. The damage was minor and I've repaired it with tape, etc. and I don't think that's the issue. Anyway, writing it here for full disclosure.
I've attached a log file.

Does it do the same in stabilise?
I haven't tried that yet but I think I've figured out the problem. The elevons respond in reverse i.e. if the plane rolls right/left it just makes it do more of that (Right roll causes the right elevon to tilt upwards and the left elevon to tilt downwards)
I am guessing this is something that has to be set up through the RC calibration page in mission planner? I just left all the boxes unchecked when I set it up (FYI -- this was an RTF system from 3DR that was working just fine, I reset the whole thing because the battery alarm was going off on a full battery. Resetting led to a host of other issues, so I just recalibrated the R/C, accelerometers, etc.).
Would appreciate if you could guide me on how to reverse the elevon movement in all modes if that indeed is the problem.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem. It still doesnt lift off.
I managed to take it off in manual mode but it seemed to be rolling excessively to the right. I'm guessing this is a mechanical issue with the wing section that I repaired so I think I might get myself a new set of wings.
