I am using the APM on an hexa without problems.

I am now building a Bixler.

I have 4 servos (2 ailerons, 1 rudder, 1 pitch) connected to three cables to the APM outputs and 1 ESC opto also connected to the APM output.

I therefore need an external source of power for the 4 servos

I do not have any jumper connected.

Question :

I am  thinking about connecting a UBEC (5V, 3A)  to the Output number 8, which should provide power to the 4 servos. This UBEC on the other side is connected to the Lipo.

Is that fine ? I won't burn the APM that way ?

  • Excellent :-)

Would you mind sharing motor and ESC data ?

  • My stab was only glued to one side, plane was flying great on 3 channels only (no ailerons)

At my 40th landing or so, hoizontal EPO elevator detached from the plane

I taped it with power tape on both sides and glued the whole tail

As a result, the plane only wants to turn right on manual mode.

I thought I did not glue the tail square enough, but looking at it I see it straight... Strange !

  • Thank you for those details Dave, will keep it in mind in case i have the same problem.

    Cheers

  • @Philip : yes Sir :-) Mae it work thanks to your answer. Cheers.

@Dave :  isn't your plane simply nose heavy, ie you should advance the CG ?

    That's perfect :)
For the APM are you using the 3DR power Brick?
