I have an AMP 2.5 and have been using it in a quadcopter it worked great no problems at all. I switched to a different FC so decided to put the APM in a plane. When it was on the quad everything worked. I flashed the arduplane firmware and now I can't get a gps lock. There is power going to it as the red led is on but it wont find any sats. I have tried flashing back to the quad firmware but it doesnt work there either. Its had no crash's or any damage. I cant figure it out and couldnt find much info when doing a search about it. Any help would be great.

This may seem obvious, but I'm a dummy and it took me several days of frustration to figure out. I had my Ublox GPS working for my first flight. Then before my 2nd, I decided to tidy up the wiring and layout. I organized the wiring and shrink wrapped the GPS board/antenna. After that, I could not get the GPS to lock. The red light was on, but no lock. I assumed it was the wires, which I checked and checked and checked - no lock. While staring at it in frustration, I noticed the antenna u.fl plug was loose. Either my fiddling or the shrinkwrap pulled the connector off the receptacle. Plugged it back in and bingo. I hope your issue is that simple.
My problem is the Vcc on the APM was too high - 5.7v. Measure your output rail to double check?
