I will add first motors, esc and batteries, and RC; later i will try with apm or px4.

Basic parameters:

    • Hello, and thank you for your answer.

i need to know what is the function of gearbox?, is necessary ?

  • I like this hull, where did you get it?

    • Hello, and thank you for your comment.

I purchased the Jabo bait boat 5CG, you can find this on google.

I like hull, but not the electronic parts and motors.

      Regards

      Cristian

    • Mike,

Short cut to the hull should be below.  I stretched the hull about 5 inches but other than that the drawings are accurate.  No keel as the design is meant for a sailboat not a powered boat.

  • You are exactly right.

Just install gearbox free, direct drive motors + 2 controllers for brush motors

Motors should be water cooled (heat exchanger made of pipe )

My 2 racing catamarans look great ( just enter catamaran rc into Google search)

"RC racing catamaran"  40 km/h max. speed

    • Sorry, regarding propellers what are the best?

      Thank you

    • Cristian,

With that hull design and weight you may be wasting your time trying to make a fast boat out of it.  Naval architecture is a very complicated science.  What kind of run time are you looking to accomplish?  Look at the link below.

    • Really nice job with your catamaran, i like this...

    • Hello David, and thank you for your answer.

Catamaran is a bait boat, and i only need for this use; from coast to 500 meters sea in to leave the hooks.

I don't think to run a race with this.

I really like the hull, durable molding plastic, i need to fix some filtration, but i don't like the electronic and motors (check the motor on attached files). I can't trust on this.

For this i'm trying to rescue this.

Because i'm starting from coast, and the waves are a little big, i'need more speed.

I work with quads and fixed wings, px4, mission, etc, but never with a boat, for this i'm asking about
      good practices.

Thank you for your comment and i wait your news,

      Regards

      Cristian

    • Water cooled brushless motors would be a good start.  It will be a bit of work.  I think when you refer to needing more speed you mean more power.  That hull is going to just push a lot of water at speeds over 1.5m/s.  Mine will do almost 3m/s but at a very high amp draw.  I can run at 1m/s for probably 7 hours and it just glides through the water with very little wake.
