New to boats looking for a hull suggestion
Hello allI have played around with fixed-wing drones before but am new to boats. I am looking to build a simple boat for the purpose of inspecting a heavily timbered section of river that it is hard to get a manned boat into and am looking for some suggestions on where to start. I don't need a sounder or overly accurate GPS (but both would be good to have). I would really like a high-resolution camera in a dome housing or similar that I could control and take photos with. I would also like a…

Hey Thomas,
I posted this on your Pontoon Boat thread as well but I'll put it here for reference.
You might want to check out Mikal Hart's TinyGPS++ library (arduiniana.org/libraries/tinygpsplus/). The library parses NMEA-0183 strings and is capable of parsing custom NMEA strings. That's really helpful when you want to read for non-GPS devices like your depth finder. We are using the library for our ultrasonic wind sensor and it works great. It will work with SoftwareSerial or HardwareSerial.

Hello everyone! Just a friendly reminder that our Kickstarter campaign for the T100 Thruster ends in about 12 hours! If you're interested in an efficient, rugged, and affordable thruster, now's the time.
We hit our third stretch goal as well making the T200 Thruster available. The T200 has double the thrust and is better for larger projects and for human-carrying vehicles.
Check it out!

Also check out our website! Shortly after the Kickstarter campaign ends, we'll be launch an online store where you can pre-order the thrusters.

@Thomas - The third stretch goal is actually at $95K, not $75K, so we're not quite there yet. Hopefully we'll make it before the end!
@Chris - Thanks!
Great to see that Kickstarter success! For those who don't have the link, it's here
Can`t wait to get my hands on mine.
I`m looking forward to seeing what stretch gaol number 2 is.
@Thomas - Thanks! We're very excited. We just posted an update with our stretch goals! The first is a mounting bracket that provides more versatile mounting options. This one is particularly helpful if you want to mount it to a boat hull or other surface where it's hard to tighten screws into the regular mounting holes.
Here's an image showing the mounting bracket on the thruster in a few orientations and mounting screws through the bracket:
Thanks!

I've just signed up for a couple of the BlueRobotics thrusters. I've got an old windsurfer that needs automation :-)
I pledged for 2 T100`s for a remote wildlife video/photography platform I`ve been working on.
Thanks to everyone who pledged for thruster! We need to keep the momentum going to make this happen, so please spread the word to anyone who might be interested!

Has anyone set one up on a full size boat? Thinking of retrofitting a 17' whaler
