Newbie Y6 (Assemble)

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Y6 copter, is there any guide step by step to assemble this copter?

I'm really new in copters, sorry for that. I've tried with the guide provided in the DIY Kit but it's not enough for me, the first time I tried to assemble APM say the next: Disarmed, gyro bad health. I looked up for that but I'm not sure if it was my wrong or if it's something about hardware or assemble error.

Thanks, beforehand.

    • Hi Micke,

I've just recently done a Y6 build myself, and didn't encounter that problem. However, this post is recent, and indicates that other people are having gyro problems as well: http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/bad-gyro-health-apm-2-6-mega

Have a look at that and see if it helps with your problem.

    • Hi nick,

I've tried to arm, but I couldn't do that, I think 'it's a hardware problem, but I'm not really sure.

When I did the calibration all was fine, but when I tried to arm I couldn't do it. So I'm guessing it could be a bad wire or something similar.

I was wondering if you could show me a picture about how did you connect your APM ?

      Thanks in advance.

  • Bad GPS health would be expected if you are inside a building, or if the GPS signal strength is bad for any other reason. If you have the GPS and compass on the GPS unit plugged in correctly and lights are visible on it, you should just need to have satellites in view for the copter to lock satellites and allow arming.

As a test, you can change the pre-arm checks in Mission planner to allow it to arm despite the bad GPS. Just don't try anything other than stabilize or alt hold modes without GPS.
