2.9 Auto Landing Test resulted in an almost fly away

I was able to put in in stabilize and get it back but here is exactly what happened.

I have the latest GPS Mediatek firmware.

1) Took to field.

2) It did all waypoints amazingly great.

3) Landing was a little too fast for my LEGO coptor.

4) Took home and changed LAND_SPEED to 20

5) Flew again, waypoints fine.

Heres where it went wrong.

6) It tried to land, speed did not seem half but not 100% sure.  I noticed it was drifting to the left, the craft came about 1 foot from its landing spot and took back straight up, not fast but throttle up.  I thought it was just going to attempt again because it knew it drifted off.   But after 150-200 or so ft high I got nervous and took back over to stabilize mode.  I am not sure if Cyberdyne activated Skynet but I was not willing to find out.

I have not flown since if you want I can get the logs.

  • Hi,

The log seems fine. The baro shows you are at ground level and change to loiter at 6318 with high throttle (and the quad starts to gain altitude).

I have always ended missions with LOITER_UNLIM so my question is what will happen after the mission is complete? Will it change to loiter? If so the mission were complete (quad landed). Then it changes to loiter and because you had the throttle high it started to gain altitude.

    You can:

1: Check in the code what happens after a mission.

2: Try the mission again and set throttle to min after starting the mission (remember that if you bring it to stabilize!!)

3: If 2 = success try the mission again, but set throttle to max after starting the mission and see if the same happen again.

4: Hope someone who knows the code can give an excact answer ;-)

Please write here if you find out what happen.

    Thanks

    /Benny

  • Here are the logs.

It almost appears that I went into loiter unless I'm reading it wrong.

I do remember looking down to make sure the switch was still in Auto but who knows.
