2.9 Throttle Die

Hello all,

Have a slight problem with 2.9 firmware when switching from stabilise to loiter mode the throttle completely dies for about a second which is a bit disconcerting (nearly needed new trousers)

has anyone else come across this.

  • Mine does that too, free-falls a few feet before it catches itself. It's a nice morning adrenaline shot.
    Ill play with those settings.

         This has come up quite a few times on the 2.9 release thread.  One thing that makes it better is if you use the THR_MID setting in 2.9.1 to adjust your stabilize mode's hover throttle to be in the middle.  This helps especially if you have an over powered quad that hovers at less than 40% throttle.

          There is some advice here on using the THR_MID parameter in the trouble shooting guide although in a slight different context.  Have a look for "my copter slowly rises or descends when I enable Alt-Hold or Loiter"

  • Marc, have you already setup the PID's for Alt Hold?  I think loiter uses Alt Hold so that needs to be sorted out first.  BTW, 2.9.1 has been released and if you're still in the tuning stages, it might be best to upgrade while you're in the midst of the tuning process.
