So now that I think I'm ready to replace my NAZA-M with an AMP I have a AMP 2.5 laying around, but Im so used to the accuracy of the external compass and wondered if I should eBay the 2.5 and get a 2.6 with external compass or are they about the same and not worth the trouble?

yeah id keep the one you own cut the trace and add an external mag its a cheaper solution too, as resale will not cover swapping to the higher rev and end up costing much more
@Edgar,
It is very easy to cut the APM2.5 internal compass select line, per these wiki instructions:http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-external-magnetometer-for-i... and add an external compass on the I2C port.
