APM2.5 is hanging erratically, hardware problem ?

Hello,

I have this APM2.5 board, configured for a quad v2.9.1b and uses it regularly for a few months without any problems, until now...

The APM "hangs" all the sudden in the following manner : the blue and red diodes turn on and remain fixed and APM does not respond to anything anymore : neither to radio (arm/disarm do not work for ex), neither mission planner succeeds to connect (display a bad packet crc message), nothing responds on the APM at that moment.

I then need to unplug the battery, plug it again and APM is fine again.

It happened three times in the last two days with the quad being battery powered, without or with flight time before it hanged.

The only repeated observation at the moment it hangs is the connected servo on A10 (used for camera trigger) that twitches once, then APM hangs. I do not know if this is the cause or the consequence.

I join here my log file of this afternoon where I flew a few minutes and at the end, when resting on the ground, APM hanged. Fortunately this never happened in flight.

I am scared to fly with such a weird behaviour as I do not know what causes it. Also strange when I look at the log file (attached), I see strange value labels in mission log graphing window.

Anyway, if someone could help me find the root cause of this by looking at the log for something weird, that would be great.

Do not power the servo from A10, only connect the signal wire. Take the power from the Outputs 5v rail or use a separate BEC
  • Did you also try with the servo disconnected with the same result? (you didnt mention that you did try or not)
