Arducopter issue

Hi,

i had posted an issue where my quad was not flying well. Now i got a new frame and started afresh. i have been very careful in setting it up. The quad hovers well on a new battery but then after about 2 minutes it drops altitude. yawing left drops altitude even more. i then give it full power and it still drifts down. attached is the log file. I have calibrated the esc's tried, multiple batteries. bought this new frame. from the logs i can see that the hover position is about 750, which is high. the total weight is 5 lbs (2.3 kg)

How can i solve this problem ?

  • Looks like battery failsafe was triggered.

There seems to be a problem with you battery. See image below.

The yellow circle shows a VERY fast drop in voltage.

As soon as you land again (green circle) the voltage recovers.

Looks like you Lipo pack is toast mate.

One other thing, also have a look at the arducopter manual on how to add IMU logging. It's not enabled at present and that will help with future log analysis.

    • Hi, i dont have battery failsafe enabled? Also i have a low voltage alarm on board and tried two batteries with the same issue.the low voltage alarm did not alert. Both batteries fully charged.

    • The blue line on the graph shows the battery voltage ... There is a definite drop in voltage.

Am I correct in saying you use a 3 cell lipo?

Please post some screenshots of your power module setup as well as you failsafe screens in Mission Planner.

All I can see is the voltage drop that drops to well below "flat" state. the minimum voltage you should drain a 3 cell lipo to is 10.5 volts .. the graph clearly shows the voltage drops way below that..

Charging a battery full does not mean it is not busted.. if its damaged it might charge to 100% but when used it drains very quick. How sure are you your batteries are not damaged.

      Kind regards

    • Yes, i am using 3s. I am 100% that failsafe is disabled. I am using the 3dr  power module. I really cant explain what is going on here.

    • Perhaps more experience people with logs can have a look but I still says it looks like that Lipo is shot.

A craft will not stay in the air at 9.5 - 9.8 volts on a 3S pack.

See DroneShare Analysis of your log below

What's the complete spec of all your hardware?

    • i have tried multiple lipos that are fully charged. all experience the same issue. it flies ok for about 2 minutes but needs 80% throttle and then drops slowly event though i have the throttle at 100%
