device orientation? interference?? ESCs???

Hi yall,

So I have been putting together different builds around an arducopter v3.0.1 using APM 2.5.2. So far I have had at least 20 great flights using different builds including a H-Quad frame and a RcTimer 450.

Yesterday, I took it out to try some new batteries I ordered from Hobbyking: both are Zippy Compact brand ::  5000mah 3C and a 2700 4C.

I should tell you our front that I am using a mix of ESCs all 30a but a few differnt brands. Rctimer and Phush...and a Rctimer OPTO. So anyway, when I was flying a 2200mah 20c battery everything ran wonderful. But when I put the 2700mah 4C it was uncontrollable. That should be expected for a very light weight 450 with 1300Kv motors and 9x5.0 carbon blades. Anyway, the latest issue seems to be an inteference issue (i think). I was flying it in a park that I usually fly at and it flew for a while then just dropped.... like flipped over to the ground from about 20 feet. It did this again after I calibrated the ESCs on the spot using APM.

Anyway, this is just a basic 450 with APM and gps Cirus ublox which all seemed to work really well. I amd going to try some different stuff. I am not sure how to download the logs so I can read them in and do some more analysis.

I am going to include a pic I just took of the craft. Any input would be more than appreciated. Hope everyone is doing well.

  • Well the esc mix you have I am almost positive is your issue

at different voltages the timings change per type of esc and the even more so with different firmware being used on each

motors and esc's should always be the same and configured/calibrated alike
