Firmware Update Crashes

Hey All-

My Hexa APM 2.5 board seems to be connected to my PC just fine via USB cable.  I can make adjustments, see data, etc... Everything seems normal... Until I try to update the firmware on the APM 2.5 board. At that point the connection is broken and my PC shows an error message that is long and complex, but the gist of it is that the com port is missing or in use. I'm not a native PC user, so I'm not sure if I can fix this on the PC side or if this is a problem with the APM 2.5.  Anybody have a similiar experience?  Any thoughts? Thx.

  • Has it worked before with this computer?

Does it work in CLI without losing the connection?

Can you make the motors spin? Download logs etc...?

  • I have seen this fixed before with a new install of mission planner.

    I would uninstall MP.

    Reboot and install MP again.

Check device manager under COM ports and see what is available. Try selecting it.
