GPS too good to be true?

I noticed that the GPS, latest Mediatek GPS 2 weeks old locks on indoors without delay.

So I took it to the garage and set it between 2 cars and doors closed and still it immediately got lock on?

I find that a little hard to be true?  I have never seen a GPS work like that.

Also I enabled require GPS and still I was able to arm immediately after connecting the batteries.

How is that?

  • I think I have the same GPS and I was surprised how fast I can get a lock.

Locks inside the house as well.

Outside it doesn't take long to get a lock and I'm using the GPS lock parameter before I can arm.

I think I pick up about 10 sats or so. I'll have a closer look next time.

I'm playing/testing Alt Hold, RTL and Loiter.

  • Allot of the delay in getting a GPS lock is waiting for it to download the log. With the batteries in place on the new board it keeps that in memory so that you don't have to go through that everytime you start the drone up, and it can get strait on to business.

I'm writing a review of the new one vs the old vs the lea6 so watch for that, it will give some detailed info about all 3.
