It would appear that the largest purpose built widescreen FPV monitor is 10.1". When i say purpose built i mean it does not have the "blue screen" issue. I watched a video on youtube where the author stated that if you put a DVR inline with your video and then feed that to any screen , that it will never blue screen.
Does anyone know if this is true or can try it ? If it worked then i would ditch my monitor, buy a DVR and use a 27" 12 volt screen.

yes, it will work, but you need to keep in mind that not all DVRs are created equal :) many introduce about half a second delay, others hang a lot and to regain your video feed you need to restart them. but there are pretty good ones too.
