Is there a way to make loiter more responsive like stabilize mode so that I could fly around in loiter mode then let go of the sticks and my quad copter stop and hold position ? Kind of like the dji phantom does ? I think it would help while trying to learn FPV....

It may help to raise the Loiter speed on the Config/Tuning >> APM Copter Pids screen to 1000 which is 10m/s.
