I think the problem is that you can't use the telemetry port and the usb port at the same time. If the MinimOSD was connected to the 3rd uart (which we normally don't use and is accessible only by cutting a hole in the APM2 case) then it would probably work. I don't think you'd be able to update the firmware that way but setting parameters and stuff would work I think.
