Radio doesn't work

Hi guys! We're programming our APM 2.5. We have already calibrated the radio, but when all seems to be ok to fly, and we connect all the wires and plug the battery in, I move the throttle and it doesn't work. While it is connected to the Mission Planner, it works fine.

Calibrating the radio, when I move the sicks it appears in the screen, so It looks that it recive the signal from the radio, but when we want it to fly, it doesn't work.

Thanks for your help!

  • Good news! I don't know why, but I connected the board via USB and powered the esc with the LiPo battery. While it was connecting to the board with the Mission Planner, it started to work with the radio, but I don't know why. In fact, I tried to do it again but I can't make it work again.

For our safety, we used wires to "paste" the quad to a wood table and avoid it to fly. I'll continue trying to make it fly properly.

I recorded a video. I'll upload it this afternoon.

    Thanks!

  • Your question has been answered, both straight forwardly, and sarcastically. I hope that you can figure this out on your own.
  • And sorry if you don't understand me well because of my English. I do my best with it ;)

  • I followed the tutorial to calibrate the esc. It's the same one as I read before. It still doesn't work. Esc's seem to be ok, because when I switch it on, they make a sound and are ready to fly, but when we move the sticks on the radio, it doesn't do anything.

I think the problem is that the APM isn't armed. How do I do that?

    Thank you again!
  • Better go back a step and read the manual again, safety is of utmost importance with these things. If you jump ahead too fast you will have an accident or lose your quad.  I lost my first quad because I was confused about setting up a failsafe and it was an easy step to skip, i am much more careful now. This info is in the link Jason sent you, right after "calibrating ESC's"

    Testing

Once you have calibrated your ESCs, you can test them by plugging in your LiPo, leave the props off for the moment.

Ensure your transmitters mode select switch is set to the "Stabilize Mode" position.

Once the APM boots up, arm your ESCs by pushing the left (yaw - throttle) stick all the way down and to the right for at least four seconds. (The A red LED will stop flashing and be on solid

    Best of Luck

  • And you will also have to arm the apm , does it read armed on the screen?

  • another potentially silly question. are you pushing throttle bottom right to ARM the rig?
  • Sorry silly question, but have you calibrated the esc on the actual copter?

i missed this step and had a similar problem just an oversight :-)

    It happens !
