  • Is it important to mount the board directly in the center of a quad frame or can it be slightly off to the side. I would like to mount mine about 2 or 3cm off center.

    Tom: that just means that your throttle is reversed on your RC transmitter (maybe you've switched to another model memory?). Switch it and go through the MP radio setup again.

    i receive my ArduCopter Quad v1.1 RTF - i m locking for some one can help me how to fly i have JR-PCM9X but there is no program with this remote only i find :

    if i want to START connect ...

    1- which mode i should use airplane or heli ??

    2- what is the revers and north ??

    3- what should i do in travel adjust ??

    4- what should i do in Flap ??

    5- what should i do in program Mix i have 1,2,3,4,5,6

    6- how can i use the position hold ??

    7- how can i use the GPS ??

    sorry about this all but really i need help to fly my new babe :)

    See flybrushless.com for other data. The DIYD/jdrones props are not in there, but should give you good comparison datasets to work with.

    is there information available on the lift characteristics of the arducopter propellers? I am looking for information to use in a theoretical calculation where i am able to relate lift to rpm.

    I'm sure Chris will have opinion, but since he's not a lawyer, he'll probably not want to give us a legal opinion.  The laws are simply not caught up with the technology yet, and if we all operate our Arducopters responsibly, there will be no need for any government to have to pass laws to limit our use of them.

     

  • Many people are currently using Xbee radios for telemetry that are capable of communicating with a UAV beyond visual range.  Using a cell phone would just be an alternate way of implementing the telemetry link (albeit with the potential for MUCH longer range telemetry). It doesn't change the fact that it would still be up to each user to be aware of laws in their area.  Having the capability for the UAV to access data from the internet, such as maps, or other databases might allow for some really cool features.

    Please consult with Mr. Anderson here, I believe you cannot operate recreational UAVs if you cannot see them with unaided eyes as the operator.

TAKEOFF WITHOUT USING GPS

Hi,Im working on a autonomous drones and im using JETSON NANO and flight controller PIXHAWK .Im able to control my drone by giving rc commands on the MAVLINK terminal itself by connecting it with PIXHAWK but now i want a python code from which i can do some operations like:takeoff,left ,right,forward,backward…and i am not using GPS…Can anyone please help me…

HELP quadcopter: one motor twitching and stuttering

Will AHRS_ORIENTATION=8 for Arducopter 3.2.1 on APM 2.5 using a traditional Heli

I have been Reading Chris Olsen posts and watching his videos on Arducopter with traditional Helis using a Pixhawk.I have inherited an older Trex 450 heli with the old Align 3G FBL hardware.  The FBL controller appears to be bad.  So I have an old APM 2.5 without a compass or GPS on board.  I just want to replace the failed Align 3G FBL system with the APM.Now I have to mount the APM under the skids on the heli so the APM will be upside down.I have Two questions.1)  Is the AHRS_ORIENTATION=8…

Maximum number of Lidar for Object Avoidance

Hi all,I'm setting up my PX4-based quad with ST VL53L0X Lidar sensors (I currently have three) and I noticed that line #24 of the current Rangefinder library (here: https://github.com/ArduPilot/ardupilot/blob/master/libraries/AP_RangeFinder/RangeFinder.h#L24) has the maximum number of sensors set to 10 (ten). Am I understanding this correctly? And has anyone ever tried to setup this many rangefinders (or anything close) with any measure of success?Any input/advice will be greatly appreciated.
