My Rover build with APM 2.5

I finally managed to put all the bits together and did a try in the garden.

It works !!!!

It took me some fiddling and nerves but it's good for the moment.

12FG Futaba Tx

R617FS Rx

5A Ubec, shielded and high frequency, already have a couple in RC airplanes.

3S 1000mAh lipo for the APM

Ublox LEA 6 GPS

Power module

433Mhz 3DR wireless telemetry

The car is a 1/8 scale 4x4 with a 540 brushed motor + 30 Amp ESC

I managed to put everything in there with velcro and tie-wraps, strong and good. So I can swap and fiddle around. The GPS is velcroed to the shell's underside.

For the moment i keep it at 15% throttle, my garden is small and it's raining :)

Of course, I still need to make it neat and more secure, then add my FPV eqpmnt, route the RX antennas correctly, and try the LIPO 2S instead of the original 6 x nimh pack.

Much faster than my first attempt and also looks more reliable compared to my cheap 'hk' vehicle.

    Nice to see another success!

  • Great !

Are you using ardurover 2.30 ? I have my 6x6  running waypoints in auto mode mode fairly well. Similar setup to yours except 4 channel RC car radio and 4x7,2v 4200mAh NiMh packs. I have not any luck trying to get it remember waypoints in  LEARN. Curious to know if you have tried this ?
