Unexpected Throttle Behavior while in Steering Mode

Hello,

I have Traxxas Slash 4x4 R/C system and an APM2 coupled to a FrSky DJT receiver and a 9XR transmitter also a Sharp sonar. My APM2 modes are Auto, Steering, Learning, Learning, Manual, Manual. All my modes except steering work fine. When I select steering, I can control the direction of my forward wheels but I have no control over throttle. Am I missing something? Also, I have Sharp sonar and when I went to configure my sonar the only options I had where for Maxbotix sonar's and when I selected one I received a message that stated this option is not available for ArduRover or something like that. I had my Sharp sonar working on previous version of Ardorover.
Thank You,

You can use the MP hardware sonar selector to "enable" the sonar, but not to select a particular sonar when setting up an IR sonar for the ArduRover.

What you need to do to configure your IR sonar is to go to the Advanced Parameter List in the Configuratin page and scroll down to where the Sonar parameters are located. Since I do not know what model of Sharp IR sensor you have I cannot advise you on the Sonar_Constant value. However a medium range Sharp IR sensor like JLN used should use a value of around 6.03. You will have to experiement with that value. Also, the Sonar_Function should be 2 for hyperbolic and the Sonar_Offset should be around 0.5. This should get you going.

As for your problem with the steering mode, I would disable the IR sensor sonar to see if that makes any difference for a start. Also, I am using one of the learning modes for my steering mode. I do not know if that makes any difference or not.
