emergency shutoff engines to stop spinning propellers

Is it possible to have the engines shutoff in order to have the propellers to stop spinning even though it is still not in altitude 0 or in the ground?

Use case: Let's say you are about to have it crash into a tree, and you would rather to have it shutoff to avoid more damage.

  • can anyone explain to me what the difference is between these optional modes, i think i understand the Loiter and Standard mode, but i am not sure of the other modes that i could select in MP

Stabilize mode, AltHold, Loiter, and PosHold.

right now my IRIS+ is using the Standard and Loiter modes. and i am curious about using the Stabilize and PosHold.

curious if they help a Newbie any better than the other modes..

also i heard that i should not need to use any of the trim controls on the Iris+ because the Iris+ is supposed to be self correcting for drift etc ???

    • thanks Dax

Having that parameter set and the flight mode in stabilize mode, will it stop spinning even though it is still not on ground? (altitude above 0)

    • Thank you very much Dax!

    • I've had plenty of cases where that would have come in handy, but if I turn that option on, I feel like I want a safety switch for that channel. plsw26.jpg
