Help, First Flight Woes

I just purchased a used Iris+ with gimbal and GoPro3 and FPV. I have downloaded the Tower software to my Samsung Galaxie S5 phone. I have not been able to get the Iris to connect to my phone with the WIFI. I cannot find the wifi signal from the Iris. What would be the network name and password?

This frustrating so far. Is there a site with explicit step by step instructions?

Any help is appreciated.

    • Thanks, I have made it past the wifi issue and I think I now have everything working. I have 3 more questions though.

1)Will the USB plug on the side of Iris charge the GoPro while it is in the gimbal?

2)Is there a way to download video from the GoPro while it is in the gimbal?

3)Is there a way to calibrate the gimbal? Sometimes it looks like it is tilted.

      Thanks a lot.

    • Thanks, for the gimbal manual.

I was flying today and I keep looking at the different Ground Station Software. I have been using Tower, but I don't see any setting for the Geo Fence and the Follow Me modes.

Do I need to go to another software to change the Geo Fence? I saw the Mission Planner wants to load new Firmware. Will that mess up my factory settings?

Also at what level do I need to change the Controller Batteries on the Iris+ Controller ? Is there anyway to tell what level they are at?

Sorry to keep asking questions, but every time I fly I come up with more questions.

    • Hey Dax,

I could use that post for the lithium-based transmitter pack.

Also I have been talking with 3DR trying to upgrade my firmware all week but Windows 7 will not talk to Iris.

Right now I am running: Firmware 3.2 Tower 3.2.1

I am trying to use the Follow Me Mode in Tower, but My software doesn't seem to look like the pictures in the Follow Me Instructions on 3dr's site.

Anyway thanks in advance for the Lithium Link.
