I have my timer count up when I raise the throttle. This is the most useful function so that I can time the flight. I know what size battery I have and based on that I can calculate when it's getting close to being done or maybe I want to fly till its half used for storage. I still have the battery failsafe enabled but this adds a little more control to the flight.
So set the time to use the throttle raised and count up.
