Getting started with Arducopter and ROS


I've been learning ROS/Gazebo/Stage for a little bit and wanted to graduate to building an actual robot. The Arducopter looks like a good solution which appears to be ROS compatible. If I bought an Arducopter today, what do I need to do to have it interface with ROS? My end goal is to implement SLAM and planning algorithms using ROS and run them on the quadrotor.

  • Was wondering if u wanted to test this out on rover platform ( ardurover). The complexity with rover platform is a bit lower compared to multicoptor platform. Jean has done some excellent work on rover recently, and do recollect someone else posting something similiar .....
