Cad file format

so, having a difficult time converting everything to .igs format. apparently it won't hold a mesh. I wanted to use that because I have always had good luck with the format before. I am using rhino CAD but the idea is to use a open/universal format or would .3dm format work well for everyone?

let me know your thoughts.

    If the format causes problems for anyone let me know and we can work something out.

    • Hello Wayne

      i check the igs files it s ok for the FCStd file i dont have the plugin for solidwoks but because i have already design more less a part of your plane to implement atmospheric research sensors it is less important for now. I will chexk how to import later...

      I will present the work done in ISARRA2014 conference ( http://isarra.org/index.html)  i will put the link in my slide if you agree. I will have a poster in other conference in france i will put the link too.

      A+

  • Hello everybody

    So personaly i have already the techpod re_design in solidworks to be able to modify it using 3D printers for atmospheric research (and i can use catia too) . After for the format files if we can import it ... but i use normaly step files.

      Hey medina, it's good to hear from you. I have heard about your project very cool.

    So I have it exported into freecad. that way everyone can have access to the files. I am headed to bead. I still have more to do. I have to make sure I include all the proper notifications etc and find a place to host it. probably on hobbyuav.com.
