Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I am developing ObliX, a multirotor-blimp-drone. I am especially interested in making UAVs fly as long and as far as possible while still having FPV contact.

Daniel Wibbing commented on Charles Blouin's blog post [Tutorial] Obtaining motor and propeller efficiency for UAVs, quads and robots.
" Charles Blouin, could you tell me how you measure the rotational speed (rpm)? What effect would it have, if the motor is not mounted in the center of the fixture plate of the dynamometer, but would have a vertical shift of about 50 mm?I am asking…"

Daniel Wibbing commented on Daniel Wibbing's blog post aerobotX | new airship-drone website
"David, of course airships can also get their aerostatic lift from hot air. My company, Festo, has a so called Hot Air Airship: http://www.festo.com/cms/en_corp/9818.htmHowever, operating at an acceptable heat would require a volume 4 times as large…"

"@naish88,
The volume of the ballonet could be adjusted by an internal fand and a valve. I haven't spent much time yet to think about this question. Do you have any suggestion? Why do you think that "airships are not really practical machines for…"

Daniel Wibbing commented on Daniel Wibbing's blog post ObliX argo - airship-drone
"@Thomas,
It is not a rigid hull. It is called a semi-rigid airship because it has an inner frame, wich is not visible in my picture. The purpose of the frame is to hold the empennage and the propulsion system."
