David Conger commented on microuav's blog post PAPARAZZI UAV ON PIXHAWK TEASER
"From the 2009 archives on the Paparazzi Wiki: "Paparazzi was a big success at the 2009 UAV Outback Challenge held at Kingaroy Airport, Queensland, Australia, Sep. 28-30. Team “Look mAh, no hands!” representing Brisbane Grammar School, won the ‘Robot…"

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Pi0Drone: a $200 smart drone with the Pi Zero and APM
"Incredible, just how far things have come in so short a time. So many choices. My inner geek couldn't be happier to be alive today to play with all these things. "

David Conger commented on microuav's blog post PAPARAZZI UAV ON PIXHAWK TEASER
"@Rob: I said: " I helped a grade school class get their hardware and they took first price their initial go at it some years ago"

I did not say "won" Outback Challenge. There are many different sub-contests. It seems your dismissing their…"

"@Fnoop,
Yep, it's a new thing. I have admiration for you for trying to follow the manual. If you
One of the longest going discussions in the RCGroups UAV area is one I did where I did what you did and simply wrote down my experience. Some Paparazzi…"

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Swarming demo with Solos from Accelerated Dynamics
"@Fnoop: "Personally I 'cobble together' uavs because my interest is in the technology and I can't afford pre-built systems at the rate I crash them"
This made me smile, that is exactly how I started, what makes Paparazzi so compelling to me. I can…"

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post ArduSub, the underwater version of ArduPilot, now live
"That's really neat. I really could have used this on my sailboat last year in the Caribbean. Reminds me of a simpler, easier to build OpenROV. "

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Swarming demo with Solos from Accelerated Dynamics
"I look forward to the day honest questions are not taken as attacks and responded to as such.
Now that 3DR is not paying people to develop the free stuff lets see how this plays out.
This demo shows a good start. Way to go. There's a lot of work…"

David Conger commented on Martin Mueller's blog post Paparazzi-powered UAV on the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica
"Excellent display of friendly use of a drone for the betterment of us all. Now if only the mainstream news channels could show this sort of thing not military uses. This is a good start I suppose. Way to go.
FWIW: John is already up North now in the…"

David Conger replied to flyinghiho's discussion I need a history lesson. How did we get here?
""What were the key moments in hobby Drone history." Let's see how long this post lasts. It is 100% fact so follow the links if you doubt any of it.

I'd say Paparazzi was definitely the World First Open Source and Hobby autopilot in any measure.…"

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post New IMU board for Paparazzi--but is it open source?
"Actually that's a great point. That IMU would likely work quite well with the DCM code in Paparazzi. Several people are flying with the SparkFun sensor board since there is now a DCM module in Paparazzi to use sensor boards with Paparazzi."

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post New IMU board for Paparazzi--but is it open source?
"...a further analogy more closely to what you bring up Chris is if someone made an IMU that worked with ArduCopter that was not open source. Would it be correct to then claim the entire project is not open source? Of course not."

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post New IMU board for Paparazzi--but is it open source?
"I can shed light on this. Paparazzi Project is and always will be completely open source. However, it is also possible to have hardware that is compatible with Paparazzi that is not. If Lisa/L or the new IMU is or is not is has nothing to do with…"

"@RH1N0: Yes, it should fly the Lisa/L, Booz, I am going to connect it to a  TWOG and a KK MultiCopter myself. URL here: https://store.ppzuav.com/osc/product_info.php?products_id=129 (not sure how to put a URL in ning).

David Conger commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Paparazzi ported to MacOSX
"@HK: yep, that's my site. Certs are a scam. In the beginning they were actually hard to get with lots of validation. Not anymore. It's just about the money now. JobyRobotics.com is the best place to get the latest. I have a lot of TWOG left so no…"
