I'm working on UAVs more than 13 years. I'm using a Trex500, a 650 size multicopter, a Skywalker X8 Vtol, a DJI Mavic. All has Pixhawk flight controllers except Dji :)

Indeed, you don't have mass drop advantage. Weight of tilt mechanishm which includes servos and 3d printed parts are roughly the same or more with fifth motor and its speed controller."
