"How about very loose strings then, rather than tight rubber rings? That would surely decouple the vibrations, right? ;)"

Ian Garcia commented on Max Levine's blog post The easiest way to mount APM2 on ArduCopter.
"Hahaha, this is so interesting. So different to the dynamics I am used to.
So you do want to introduce lag then, on purpose, because you are more worried about high frequency vibration, yet you are not worried about what the lag will do to the…"

Ian Garcia commented on Max Levine's blog post The easiest way to mount APM2 on ArduCopter.
"Well, this will introduce phase lag for sure. It's possible that if the rubbers are very tense, and given that the autopilots are very light, it works out in the end. Back in the day working on these guys…"

"That's got to be terrible for dynamics."

Ian Garcia commented on Chris Anderson's blog post UAVs as robotic construction drones
"Damn right, as others point out, high precision outdoor navigation is definitely within the realm of current sensors. DGPS for one, down to +- 1 cm. Getting it below that should be an interesting nav problem but definitely doable.

Hello all,Anybody here has experience with trying to remove the export-control velocity and altitude limits from any of the popular GPS receivers? I am thinking U-blox, Mediatek or SiRF. I know these limits can be removed from the high-end units…
