About Me:

Mechanical Engineer in the wheat fields of Eastern Washington interested in learning more about the exciting potential Automated Vehicles represent. Military trained in airspace deconfliction complemented by a masters project in lighter-than-air distributed systems.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I'm interested in creating a courier service that serves the local rural area that my family lives. The vehicles themselves are exciting but control systems draw my attention much more. A key goal for the business structure I envision is an openly accessible Navigation Network (NavNet) that acts as a repository for various vehicle configurations, missions, and flight conditions while providing a link between operators and clients around the world.

Martin Baker replied to Martin Baker's discussion (Open) Output APM 2.6 data for use with other Arduino-compatible boards... How?
"Step 1:  Start with a common ground between your power supplies, assuming use of two batteries."

How does one assign APM 2.6 data streams from the accellerometer or barometer to an output pin that can be jumped across to the input pins on an Arduino board?I'm using an UNO board as a remote sensor platform and controller to avoid interference…

"Thanks Micheal but I'm not quite there yet. I just got done building a controller for a camera gimbal and am wanting to put light bars on my toy and really didn't want to modify or construct a whole new power system, but then it hit me... Dummy why…"

Martin Baker replied to Andy Dombeck's discussion tractor guidance in Agricultural UAVs
"Contour not count. We really need an open-source Raven and associated software."

Martin Baker replied to Andy Dombeck's discussion tractor guidance in Agricultural UAVs
"The reason I ask is because the geometry is a factor unless you are on flat ground. We're out in the Palouse of Eastern Washington so we have to count our rather than back and forth.

Can you tell more about you tractor. Auto steer ready? Make,…"

"Love it! We are a few months out from doing something similar. What type of tractor; articulated or fixed? How wide; do you have triples on?"

Martin Baker replied to Will's discussion I'm a cop and need help making a drone, as well as some info
"Thanks for serving and being willing to stand in front, we will all need courage to continue standing as we learn about the coming wave of aerial robotics.

Keep learning about these machine and their capabilities by building your own platform.  It…"

Hello, I am interested in installing any type of sensor to be used (or simply logged) by the APM system.  I'm having difficulties sifting through all this information and finding a good example to follow about how the code is written and implemented…
