Nilsen replied to airmazingvideo.com's discussion Pixhawk with BaseCam (AlexMos) SimpleBGC Gimbal
"Hey, I am using the APM 2.6 and the GHT gimbal with the Alexmos 32 bit board.
Connecting the reciever directly to the board is very easy and in the basecam software you can easily
If you read the Basecam documentation

"Hi All,

@Randy - I would love to use the MAVLink but I think the ATTINY has a serious limitation with regards to decoding the MAVLInk messages, is there an arduino library which is used to decode them? Is it single line input? I see on the Minimosd…"

Nilsen replied to Henri's discussion Skycat parachute launcher for Drones
"Hey Henri,
Other than a kill switch of sorts I wouldn't know how to do this, maybe the output could interface with that kill switch which was mentioned earlier, then again, it's added complexity etc...
There could be an output from the control board…"

"I was thinking of using an ATTINY to keep cost and complexity down so I'm not sure about decoding the MAVlink commands, what if we simply consider it a failsafe which.
1. Consumes heartbeats from APM (if they stop and altitude is dropping, assume…"

Nilsen replied to Henri's discussion Skycat parachute launcher for Drones
"Hey Guys,

I've been giving this some more thought and was thinking what the trigger board could be and achieve.
Attiny based for independent "thought" with it's own Barometer for measuring relative changes in altitude.
Parachute input from APM…"

Nilsen replied to Henri's discussion Skycat parachute launcher for Drones
"Hi everyone,

what a great thread, I'm really keen on building something like this as well.
I was just wondering about using something Arduino based with an external barometer or accelerometer to check for a sudden and sustained drop in altitude…"
