Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

A couple of weeks ago I found the PhoneDrone Board here on Diy Drone and became enthralled. To begin with I just wanted to find an Arduino board that I could use in a existing camera control project that allowed me to use android since the Google ADK board is outrageously priced. Once I had set my eyes on this community I knew right then I wanted to make a UAV. At first I just wanted to make one because well, Who doesn't want a UAV? But then I thought about it and since I am working on getting my pilots licence I decided to try to make the experience like a simulator except you don't control a digital plane. Combined with the right interface, this would be a great way to try out some lessons that I learn from my ground school course with out needing to pony up for a plane rental.
