About Me:

I work in aerospace building electric vtol airplanes... sorta a large UAV or a MAV. I'm always building things and specialize in making molds, creating prototypes and using carbon fiber aerospace techniques.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I'm interested in this area because I've always wanted to mess with RC stuff and now Can. I'm more interested in the builds and would like to contribute to the advancement of the field while having fun and learning. Possibly moving toward my own business.

Sam Arbizo replied to Asgar A's discussion Plug for Drones
"So what are you asking?

We use either composite molds or molds machined from tooling foam.  The tooling foam is relatively cheap compared to aluminum or carbon fiber but, the foam has a bit higher CTE.  The last uav mold I made was from this foam…"

Sam Arbizo replied to Haygood's discussion Carbon Fiber frames bad for radio reception?
"Carbon can have interference effects... I just drill a hole in my frame and then have the antenna hand out the bottom so I have no possibilities of any problems.  Though people do say this about carbon... I'm not sure about how thick the carbon…"
