abey commented on Chris Anderson's blog post UAV flocking with senseFly
"No idea about JSTOR, sorry. For the charger, I dont think so. From what I see, this charger is actually identical to the B6, except that there are 4 of those in the same box."

"@mike yes I do have one of these charger -- it's very nice.

More info on the collision avoidance strategy they use: http://infoscience.epfl.ch/record/153202?ln=en (full text unfortunately not free). Content should also be in this…"

abey commented on Andrés's blog post How to choose battery capacity for optimal flight times
"For a given airframe, C_L is bounded, i.e. there is no way to increase lift beyond some maximum value (unless you increase significantly the speed, which requires a significant scaling of the propulsion system, which will impact m_0, etc.).…"

"Can you tell us about the underlying sensor? Is it a AVAGO mouse chip or a CCD with custom processing? Or something else?"

"Interesting work. Any chance to have the same flights with the the camera pointed downward? It would better illustrate the lateral stabilisation achieved by the optic flow sensors."

abey commented on Martint BuildYourOwnDrone.co.uk's blog post Xbee 868 revived?
"In my experience, if you can spare another line, it's much easier to pull the reset pin every 6 minutes. It barely affects the communication and it resets the duty cycle limit."

abey commented on Alexander's blog post Preview of my wireless modem development
"That's 6 minutes. Any sensible flight is going to be longer so this will be a problem. For example, the 6 minute transmission time per hour is hardcoded in the XBeePro 868. It wont transmit anymore than that, so that makes it pretty much unusable…"

"Re: legal issue, does it mention a 10% or 1% maximum duty cycle? Because it's a very common restriction in this kind of frequency for anything above 10mW."

abey commented on Uwe Gartmann's blog post sense Fly, a commercial drone for just around $9000
"Just to put things straight, since Dec 1st, 2009, all UAVs must remain in LOS in Switzerland, down to - and including - 0g MTOW. Below 500g, there are however no location restrictions, i.e. you can fly nearby airfields etc, which you can't with…"
