okay if just showing the current plane position, when viewing current + trails it might be good to work out how to show the route taken within certain increments. google won't like thousands of positions in the kml. i get stage 2 would be to show trails when the heading or altitude dropped significantly.
Think i'll move awway from the flightsim stuff and back to normal ge, can't find any decent support for it. We'll have to wait for someone who knows google to show us how to use the sim programatically
Well actually i've just managed to get google earth embedded on one of my gcs windows. It shows the real time position of the plane okay and I am now trying to find out how to pipe the telemetry to the flight sim, just being able to switch to flight sim in code would be a good start! ;)

on another matter, I can show the flight path and or waypoints in google earth but in terms of flight path how often should coorinates be sent to google. Do you think it should be relative to the length of the flight or distance between points or what? Any ideas?
