  • Greetings from Rich@avalonrf.com       Avalon RF Inc  Microwave Links in COFDM for HD/SDI

I just wanted to let the group know there is a new HD COFDM digital HTX transmitter and HDX HD diversity receiver that will become available about November 2012.   The main focus is that Avalon RF will have a new light weight transmitter that weighs in at 220 grams with the connectors which PC boards not weighed yet, in a ABS black box with internal shielding.

I trust this should be usable info for the amateur and the professional that sport lift capabilities in perhaps the 4-6 lb payload area as a guess for HD work. All 720 or 1080P and any frame rate needed is programmed in.

This unit has only 2 frames latency even at 1080 with sufficient power out for any short or long range UAV/RPA with only a 12 watt power draw at 12 VDC, and with a 5dBi omni vertical on the unit and a dual inexpensive panel system offering directional 9 or 20 dBi capability depending on distance or even up to 6 panel antennas with 3 on each receiver input will get you long distance quadrant overlap and simultaneous mid and short range 9Dbi panel with 180 deg receive angle should cover you 360 easy etc., without any need to move receive antennas with distances on the antennas can be mounted with remote UHF down converters right at the panel for no loss and 450Mhz through LMR240 coax no problem out 30 meters less or more for diversity receive enhansement.  Converters allow you to mount right at the antenna because 2.4Ghz / any Ghz is lossy in coax...UHF no problem to antenna inputs with system cost roughtly estimated at 18K USD as a general guide.

    * Drop me a line at Rich@avalonrf.com    if there is some interest and can help with the JPGs of prelim system are posted here to help you.

    Have a good flight

    Rich
