  Yeah it could be a cargo hook as you say... I did not notice this when I was there. These helicopters do a lot of work in mines up north especially survey / prospecting work. They would no doubt carry stuff in these remote areas...
  This was a great flight it was real cheap (only a few minute flight though) - a holiday special and they we just doing joy flights from the side of the road for passersby. The young fella loved it.

  Hi Greg. Looking at the R44 what's hanging out at the bottom under the engine, cargo hook cable? hoped you enjoyed it! those exspresions ses it all.
