Rcgroups & runryder definitely seemed to dry up after diydrones appeared. They're now more focused on promoting businesses while diydrones has attracted the hobbyists, but Ning really needs more organization than the Latest Activity list. Here's a robotic copter update.Had to point into the wind for more stability. That's also where the sun is. More autonomous hover in wind from heroine worshipper on Vimeo.
Well, thats great for forums which have lots of very different topics for all different kinds of users, but at DIYDrones, all the topics seem interlinked and of great interest to me, personally.
I would have to subscribe to all the topics regardless.
At RCGroups and RCUNiverse I subscribe to Aerial Photo, to electronics, to UAVs, and to FPV posts...but here, I can read them all.
Software image stabilization is a workaround for lack of money. Procerus & rotomotion sell realtime versions. We do it on Cinelerra offline. A proper gyro cam, heavy airframe, & commercial autopilot should always be first priority but it's an economic dream.
Rcgroups & runryder have a subscribed topic list & a list of all topics sorted by activity. A list of all blog posts sorted by activity & subscribed blog posts would be the way to go.
It looks like Jack is using a post production technique - image stabilization software. This correlates a point or point in the frame and holds them still by moving the whole image around those points. Its a great way to smooth out flight videos. However, you wouldn't see the same things if watching live (unless maybe,...you lived up to vimeo poster's account name!?! Joking - Thats a heroine, not the other one!)
Do you have any suggestions for better organization? I've got some flexibility with the Ning platform (and it will continue to get better without any effort on my part)
